14 days of unique Australian outback and coastal experiences. Departing South East Queensland’s Archerfield airport, embark on your 14 day ultimate Australian outback experience. We have put together some of the most iconic tours from the outback to the northern coast of Australia.

Visiting Famous outback towns Birdsville, Uluru, Broome, Darwin,  and Longreach, you will explore the surrounding areas including Kings Canyon, Talbert Bay, The Kimberleys, Kakadu National Park, Jabiru, Bungle Bungles, Lake Argyle and Yellow Waters.

Experience unforgettable desert sunsets on Big Red, enjoy the legendary aussie pub meals at the iconic Birdsville Hotel and have a unique perspective as you soar over the vast changing expanses of the Australian outback.

After your first night in the outbacks Birdsville Hotel, things only become more remote as we head to Uluru to see the incredible canyons and see the rich Indigenous culture that surrounds us. 

Heading now to the most northeastern parts of Australia, Broome, You will trade the outback red ochre for coastal sands. Some of Australia’s best once in a life time experiences are here including Horizontal Falls Seaplane Tours.  Spend your days hunting pearls or riding camels on the beach during beautiful north Australian sunsets before heading to the Northern Territory to explore the world-famous Kimberleys and ancient national parks.

El Questro offers quaint huts in the magnificent Emma Gorge providing a perfect location to explore unforgettable experiences. 

Heading back into Queensland, although closer to home, you will still feel a world away as you float down the Yellow Water Billabong or stare in awe at the towering twin Jim Jim Falls. 

Coming to the end of this magnificent tour, we will spend a night in Longreach, home to an incredible history of aviation and outback legends. You will be able to explore the Qantas Founders Museum, stroll through the iconic Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, and watch the sunset from the majestic Thomson River before enjoying the Qantas Founders Museums’ new light show.

Prices start from AUD $10700.00 per person, based on 2 passengers travelling and transfer costs from your location to Archerfield will be calculated on top.

This tour is designed for – Solo travellers/couples/small groups and families. Our tour is not suited to young children or infants due to the time spent in the aircraft. 

This Itinerary can be taken all year round

Suggested Itinerary

Departing Archerfield and heading west you will see Brisbane city slowly disappear as the sun begins to rise in the east. Heading for Charleville, you will see the landscape change from mountainous greenery to the iconic red outback. Arriving at our first stop around 10am, visit the outback Royal Flying Doctor tourist center and learn about this invaluable life saving service.

After a short stay, we continue west for Birdsville tracking over Cooper Creek and its remarkable channel country. Arriving just before 2pm, your first outback pub lunch will be moments away, perhaps enjoy a few cold ones while you wait. Check in and make yourself comfortable but be sure not to doze off, we will be heading to the Simpson Desert on our Big Red sand dune sunset experience from 4:30pm.

This will provide an incredible photography opportunity while you enjoy a few drinks. After sunset, return to the Birdsville hotel for dinner and drinks in their heritage listed front bar.

Arriving in Broome, home to some of Australia’s best sunsets and the largest tides, three days will be enough to see most of the sights at a consistent pace. Your accommodation is in the heart of Cable Beach. 

The Billi Resort is affectionately named after the local Indigenous name for the coastal area of Cable Beach; Bilingurr.

Making our way initially south-east to Bellburn, arriving around 10am, just in time for your own guided tour of the iconic Bungle Bungles, enjoy your nearly full day tour of the incredible towering structures before boarding back onto your aircraft for another beautiful scenic flight towards Darwin. This time being later in the aftertoon you will see the beautiful colours of the landscapes as we head north east again over Purnululu National Park.


After a big day exploring the Bungle Bungles, you’ll arrive at Elquestro Homestead and have the opportunity to either unwind in your station tent or explore around the homestead.

Amid the vast and ancient landscape of Western Australia’s East Kimberley region sits the untamed natural beauty of El Questro. A destination unlike any other and offers the freedom to explore one of Australia’s last true frontiers. From deep gorges and majestic mountains to thermal springs, mud and salt-flats, rainforests and cascading waterfalls everything the Kimberley has to offer is located across the property’s 700,000 acres and is why we say that El Questro is the heart of the Kimberley.

Your first part of the journey back amongst the big smoke. Darwin has beautiful beaches, great restaurants and markets. You can choose to head out on croc tours or relax by your pool. Enjoy this time to recoupe before heading back south east.

Only a little more expensive than the other hotels in Darwin though offering a more private environment, you will be able to ease back into larger crowds after spending some days in remote outback Australia.

Before you get too used to the city life, enjoy one of the last remote outback stops on the way back home. Arriving in Cooinda just in time to enjoy the famous yellow waters sunset cruise followed by a restful night in your outback retreat luxury tent.

The following day, after breakfast depart for Longreach.

ooinda Lodge is the gateway to Yellow Water Billabong in the heart of Kakadu. It is the ideal base to explore the treasures of the region. The indigenous owned Cooinda Lodge offers easy access to Yellow Water cruises, Warradjan Cultural Center, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Nourlangie, bush walks and boat entry and exit points for an exciting day of fishing. After a day of adventure or relaxing by our resort style pools, enjoy alfresco dining and drinks at Barra Bistro and Bar, or retire to your private courtyard for a spectacular sunset and natural beauty of the surrounding area.

Passing by Winton, if you still have an energetic spirit, why not stop in at the famous dinosaur museum. With time for a half day tour, the next stop will be at Longreach where the last night of the tour will be spent.

Visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs with the largest collection of Australian dinosaur bones in the world. Hear how the bones are surfacing and are dug up right here in the Winton region and remain in the area to be prepared and added to an amazingly progressive dinosaur museum. You will see real bones and professional animation to recreate the dinosaurs before your eyes.

​Tour Includes: Three tours at AAOD (laboratory, collection room and dinosaur canyon), morning tea and guided transfers to/from the museum.


So you can enjoy what’s on offer in Longreach, don’t rush, spend the last night of the trip in this famous town. With the must see and do tours, this will be a nice cap off of to the Australian outback tour.

Even with just 3 tours, the whole day will quickly fill, Consider booking 2 nights if you wish to take a more leisurely pace.

The Staging Post is our accommodation of choice. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a tour desk and ticket service, along with free WiFi throughout the property.

Ilfracombe is 26 km from The Staging Post. The nearest airport is Longreach, 3 km from the motel, and the property offers a free airport shuttle service.

Make sure you stock up on your favourite goodies from the local bakery as the next stop will only be Roma for fuel where there may not be access to quite as amazing food!
